Hayward® SV series Solenoid Valves

PVC SV Solenoid ValvePVDF SV Solenoid ValveHayward's SV series solenoid valves are used to control flow rate, the valve remains in the closed position until electrically actuated.  The valve bodies are a two port design, having one inlet and one outlet.  They are available in ½" to 1" sizes.

The valve bodies are available in either PVC, CPVC or PVDF and either can have EPDM or FPM seals.

Available voltages include 12VAC, 24VAC, 110VAC, 220VAC, 12VDC and 24VDC.

Design Criteria

Best results are received when the inlet pressure is <120 PSI and the flow velocity is ≤ 5 FPS.  The formula for calculating flow velocity is (GPMx0.4085)/ID2.  Where GPM is flow rate (gallons per minute) and the ID is expressed in inches.

Key Features

  • All non-alloy wetted materials

  • Designed for continuous-duty applications

  • The coil is housed in a corrosion-resistant polyester material

  • Differential pressure is not required for operation

  • The electrical connection is compatible with both 1/2" conduit and SJ-type cord

  • Normally closed design

  • Rated for pressures up to 150 PSI at 70F

Connections

Threaded connections are NPT (American Standard) tapered pipe threads and it is suggested that a non-petroleum based sealant such as PTFE (Teflon™) plumbers tape is applied to your inlet/outlet pipe connections.

If you are not sure which diaphragm valve is most appropriate for your application, send us an inquiry, we typically reply quickly, certainly within 24 hours.
