These 1-piece molded ball valves are an entry level valve designed for basic on/off applications. They are not considered to be an "industrial duty" ball valve and instead are used for commercial plumbing applications.
There are two styles, the QVC and the Qv. The QVC standard port ball valves are offered in both white and gray PVC material, having santoprene (TPV) seats and EPDM seals; they are available with threaded or socket (glued) connections from 1/2" to 4" sizes. The QV series is made of gray PVC and has a full port design; it is available in 1/2" to 2" sizes with either threaded or socket (glued) connections.
Both
the QVC and QV series ball valves only require 1/4 turn to
open/close the valve and are rated for non-shock pressures of 150
PSI @ 70F. The standard port design of the QVC style means
that the valve bore (ID) is less than the corresponding
connection size ID, so it will have a higher differential pressure
drop than a QV series valve of the same size because those have full
ports (ID of the valve matches the ID of the connection size).
You will notice that the QV series also has PTFE valve seats instead of the less expensive santoprene (TPV) used in the QVC design, thus the QV series valve seats have a broader chemical compatibility range then the QVC series ball valves.
These 1-piece valves are non-repairable, so if they become damaged or worn they'll need to be replaced.
