1 piece standard port design made of 316 stainless steel (Economy Ball Valve Specifications)
Model T45 one piece ball valves are designed for commercial plumbing and light duty on/off, drain and venting applications. Available with FNPT (female threaded) connections in 1/4" through 2" sizes, these valves can be used for pressures up to 1,000 PSI. 1 piece ball valves minimize leakage routes to only the valve seats and stem packing-rings. These economy ball valves have a standard port are designed in accordance with ASME B16.34 and are tested according to API 598 standards. All valves are leak tested under water at 100 PSI air pressure to MSS SP-72.
The T45 can be supplied with the common "lever" style handle or a "butterfly" style handle which is useful for drain, venting and pressure gauge isolation applications where lever style handles do not fit well. The standard handle orientation aligns the handle with the flow path; when it is 90 degrees from the flow path it is closed; you can re-orient the handles if desired simply by removing the locking nut.
The inlet and outlet connections can either both be female or mixed (inlet is a male connection, outlet is a female connection. The mixed MxF connections reduce the need for a pipe nipple when connecting to other female ports, such as pressure gauge connections, drain connections and vent port connections which tend to be female taps or threaded couplers.
The stem packing rings can be replaced while the valve is under pressure (blow-our proof stem). The stem packing is adjustable, so you can compensate for a worn, leaky seal tightening the packing gland slightly. The 316SS investment cast design provides chemical resistance and reduces porosity.
The stem packing and seat is made from PTFE, the body and seat retainer is cast from ASTM A351 GR. CF8M 316SS. The handle, washer and nut are made of 304SS.
