Hayward ball check valves are a simple and effective solution for preventing backflow in piping systems. They feature a free-moving ball that seals against an elastomeric seat when reverse flow occurs.
When flow enters the valve, it pushes the ball off the elastomeric seat, allowing fluid to pass around the ball and through the outlet with very low differential pressure. When the pressure on the outlet side exceeds the inlet pressure, the ball is forced back against the seat, sealing the valve and preventing reverse flow.
Hayward ball check valves are typically available in PVC and CPVC bodies with EPDM or FPM (Fluorocarbon) seats and seals, offering good chemical compatibility for many water, wastewater, and light chemical applications.
