This environmentally friendly ball vale accessory helps ensure cleaner and safer environment
The Media Containment Device (MCD) is designed to attach to ball valves to reduce potential fugitive emissions of hazardous fluids and gasses. This environmentally friendly device thus helps ensure cleaner and safer environment.
The primary leakage path for most valves is through the stem seals, which are worn through standard use and thus leakage is inevitable without an aggressive preventative maintenance procedure.
The reusable MCD enables both monitoring and secondary containment for valve stems and they can be retrofitted to your existing valves. Essentially forming a port between the valve stem and operator, it enables installation of a sensing device to alert operators in the event of leakage.
The MCD can be provided with a check valve to enable injection of an emergency sealant or shut-off if needed. Its also possible to attach a positive pressure supply to the MCD which exceeds the pipeline pressure, thus preventing any leakage through the valve stem altogether.
The design of the MCD automatically compensates for high temperature and pressure fluctuations and the extension effectively increases the distance between the operator and media.
