PVC, CPVC, and PVDF Y check valves in sizes from 1/2 inch to 4 inch
Hayward Y check valves feature a serviceable design that allows inspection and replacement of internal components without removing the valve body from the pipeline. This is especially valuable with glued socket connections.
These valves are designed for liquid service only and are not suitable for air or gas applications. Non-liquid media can store significant energy and create safety risks if the valve body fails.
Y check valves can be installed in horizontal or vertical piping as long as the spring chamber cap faces upward. They require a minimum of 2 PSI back pressure for a positive seal. The full flow design keeps differential pressure low. Cracking pressure is slightly higher than ball check valves.
True union versions allow complete removal of the valve body without disturbing the pipe connections. This adds approximately 15 percent to the cost but greatly simplifies future maintenance on socket or threaded systems.
We also offer adjustable Y check valves that let you set cracking pressure between 2 and 15 PSI. These are available in standard and true union configurations.
