Sodium Hypochlorite Ball Valves

Sodium Hypochlorite Ball Valve Specifications

TBH-Z series PVC true union ball valve socket and threaded connectionsSodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) is used for water disinfection, surface sterilization and odor control applications.  Standard ball valves become damaged due to off-gassing (NaOCl decays in storage tanks and piping) resulting in a salt solution and oxygen bubbles. The salt crystals wear against the ball valve stem seals which eventually enables leakage.

The Hayward
TBH-Z "Z-ball" ball valve is designed specifically for NaOCl applications, having a drilled diverting ball which enables the oxygen (gas) to vent to the pressure side of the system and thus keeping the inner surfaces wet - reducing crystallization and thus wear on the ball valve stem seals.

TBH-Z ball valves are manufactured in PVC and CPVC materials and have FKM seals.  They are available in 1/2" to 6" sizes, although eh 6" size consists of a 4" size valve body with 6" flanged connections.  All sizes with exception of the 6" are available with socket, socket weld (glue) or ANSI flanged connections; the 6" size is only available with flanged ends.

The valves can be automated with an electric or pneumatic actuator and if you order the actuator with the valve it will arrive assembled and tested without additional cost.  The ISO 5211 mounting pad requires only a shaft coupling (9, 11 or 14mm) to attach most actuators, so if you have an existing actuator we can provide the valve "actuator ready" with a coupling.
