Hayward® True Union Ball Valves
Hayward® PVC and CPVC true union ball valves in 1/2" to 4" sizes
Hayward® model TBH ball valves are designed for tough, industrial applications where performance and long service life are priorities. The TBH series made their TB series obsolete, the improvements provided by the TBH model are described in detail in our article Introducing the Hayward TBH Series Ball Valve. The pictures above show the manually operated version with a T style operator and the actuator ready model having built-in actuator mounting pad.
Hayward's TBH ball valves are manufactured in PVC and CPVC, have PTFE seats and either EPDM or FPM o-ring seals. The flanged versions are all rated for 150 PSI @ 70F (non-shock) pressure. The threaded connections, up to 2" in size, are rated for 250 PSI @ 70F with the larger sizes rated for pressures of 235 PSI @ 70F.
The buttress style threads used for the true union connections are designed to fail prior to the valve body in the event of over-pressurization. Although in such a situation it is still recommended to replace the entire valve, this design directs the liquid away from the operator and thus considered a significant safety feature. You will notice the integral mounting pad which can be used for panel or skid mounting. The valve information is etched into the valve body, an improvement over labels. The handle was designed for ease of use with a gloved hand, having increased clearance between the handle and true union nuts. If you have an existing model TB valve, the TBH version is a drop-in replacement.
The actuator ready version has an integral ISO 5211
mounting pad, so if you would like to use your own actuator all you
require is a shaft coupling (9, 11 or 14mm) as any actuator having
an ISO 5211 mount will connect directly to the valve. If we supply
the actuator we will assemble it to the valve and test for no
additional cost.
